Reuse, recycle, repair, says expert

With today's technology seemingly becoming obsolete within a short space of time, an expert has called on people to consider how devices can still be used.
Caroline Laitner, senior consultant at environmental organisation Waste Watch, said that people always look for "something that is better or faster" when it comes to technology.
However, consumers and businesses ought to "get the most out of any product" and purchase devices that they can upgrade, rather than discard, Ms Laitner commented.
"You might want the latest model, but it does not mean the one that you have got has not got any life left so stick it on eBay, stick it on Freecycle, there is always someone who can find a use for it so it is not being wasted," she stated.
Waste Watch aims to inform people of ways they can reduce all forms of waste, including rubbish and energy.
