This product has a non-toxic composition and consists predominantly of water, and yet exhibits effective paint, varnish, and lacquer plasticising/softening characteristics.
This is due to the fact that of the other two components, one is completely soluble in water and the other is insoluble in water. The main ingredient, other than water, has no chemical activity and indeed our products have a two-fold process – such that there is a partitioning between the internal emulsion phase and the external emulsion phase, which carries out the softening function. In lay terms, this means that the chemical reaction between two components in the emulsion cause the paint/finish to soften.
This is totally different chemistry to that of normal solvent-based formulations where there is no chemical reaction within the formulation, only with the surface and coating being stripped (and of course the user!).
All components in the formulation are well established in the cosmetics industry and have a long history as non-hazardous materials with skin contact application.
The main ingredient, the carrier, water, and the materials are emulsified to form and oil in water emulsion.
All ingredients were carefully selected to satisfy the following criteria:-
• No hazards to the end user
• No harm to the environment (our products readily biodegradable)
• Minimal VOC content (the VOC content is 0.000004%!)
