Green car rental company set to offer fuel-efficient vehicles

A car rental company that claims to be the most environmentally-friendly in Europe has added a number of fuel efficient vehicles to its fleet.

Green Motion Vehicle Rental has taken delivery of the first of a minimum order of 300 Volkswagen BlueMotion vehicles at its Palmers Green base, one of three locations it maintains in the UK.

Volkswagen's BlueMotion cars represent the most fuel-efficient vehicles in each one of the manufacturers' ranges and Green Motion managing director, Richard Lowden, claimed the new additions to the fleet would prove popular with their customers.

"Being able to offer our customers the choice to hire quality Volkswagen product while making their contribution to reducing their carbon footprint represents a unique and powerful selling opportunity," he said.

Nick Berry, Volkswagen's fleet services rental and direct sales manager, added: "Customers are increasingly concerned about the environmental impact of their motoring activities and our vehicles enable them to 'do their bit' while offering a high quality driving experience."
