We believe that the majority of UK organisations want to "go green" but with the combination of media hype, information overload / inadequacy and non-standardisation of approach, it's no wonder that confusion reigns. But the good news is that done properly, sustainable procurement delivers a better environment AND total cost savings!
So our vision - this site - is to provide busy buyers with knowledge about what other businesses are doing to become more sustainable and the tools to act now via our green services directory and secure Eco Shop which sells green office supplies at competitive prices.
Our innovative new "Scrap Shop" (part funded by Cheltenham Borough Council) is a free-to-use trade waste exchange - so now you can trade your unused stock and waste materials with other organisations rather than spend money throwing it into landfill sites...visit Scrap Shop and register before trading.
Finally, we've developed a best practice Sustainable Purchasing Healthcheck which we can bring to your business to help you become more sustainable whilst reducing your costs too.

Green Buying Limited is a joint venture company established by Buying Support Agency Ltd and WSP Environmental Ltd. Each company brings different skills to develop in Green Buying Ltd a knowledge portal for organisations seeking ways to green up their supply chains.

Buying Support Agency Ltd: Established in 2002, the BSA advises both public and private sectors in best practice procurement. It specialises in supplier partnerships, tender and contract management, as well as undertaking purchasing health checks and training programmes.

Matt Roper (Founder)
Matt has been delivering best practice Purchasing consultancy services since 2002 across a range of government and private sector organisations. As head of Green Buying, he is now overseeing the development of sustainable procurement consultancy and training services.
Andrew Noone
Andrew is a consultant within the Corporate Services Team with WSP. He has delivered a wide variety of sustainability and CSR project support to clients on a range of operations and strategy. He's written research for the Ethical Research Investment Service on suppliers in the tobacco sector and worked with clients to implement scope of work to improve environmental and sustainability performance in supplier engagement.
Catherine Lafarge
Catherine’s background includes many senior purchasing and marketing positions in retail and manufacturing industry throughout the world.
As a procurement specialist consultant, she is also experienced in developing and installing change management programmes across a variety of small, medium and blue chip companies. Recently she has been a coach as well as a lecturer in business schools in France.
Alex Steele
Alex is a specialist in environmental management, corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. Alex is the Director for a wide range of environmental business support programmes, which aim to provide advice and training to organisations, in areas including resource efficiency, waste minimisation, environmental management systems, ISO14001, EMAS, energy efficiency, sustainable transport, life cycle analysis, environmental impact assessment, sustainability appraisal, strategic environmental assessment, carbon management, and environmental policy and legislation.
